The sun is one of the oldest symbols there is, and Mexico has been drawing it for millennia — here, seven flat rays open around a single 3 cm stone.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eWe cut it in \u003cem\u003ecalado\u003c\/em\u003e, the pierced openwork technique Taxco silversmiths have used for generations, from two layers of sterling sheet. The magnetic back holds without piercing the fabric at all, which is what you want on silk, cashmere or fine knits.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cstrong\u003eHow is it different from the Sol Pin Pequeño and the Spur Pins?\u003c\/strong\u003e The Grande is the largest, with seven rays spread evenly around the stone. The Spur Pins fan their rays to one side, like a spur. The Pequeño is smaller and formed in media caña, so its rays are rounded instead of flat.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cstrong\u003eIs the stone natural?\u003c\/strong\u003e Yes.
