The form reinterprets the tongue — a symbol we found throughout pre-Hispanic codices, where it stands for speech, knowledge and human connection — and curves it around the finger.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\n\u003cp\u003eThe stone is a pear-cut citrine, and it's the only faceted stone we use. Everything else in our catalog is a cabochon, polished smooth to show the material. Here we wanted the opposite: facets that throw light, warm gold against cool silver.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\n\u003cp\u003eThe silver body is built using \u003cem\u003ecartoneado\u003c\/em\u003e, a technique Taxco has practiced for generations: sterling sheet is die-stamped, then soldered by hand into a hollow form. Most of our stones — jade, malachite, lapis, obsidian — are cut as cabochons, polished smooth so you read the material itself.
