Lapis Scarf Ring in Sterling Silver & Lapis Lazuli

Sale price$200.00

The Lapis Scarf Ring is a .925 sterling silver scarf ring set with natural lapis lazuli, made by hand in our workshop in Taxco, Guerrero, Mexico.

Lapis lazuli has been prized for thousands of years for one reason: that blue. Deep and saturated, flecked with gold pyrite and veined with pale calcite, it never comes out the same way twice. We built this piece around the stone and kept the silver quiet, so the blue does the talking.

Every part of it is fabricated, set and polished by hand in our workshop. Our lapidary in Mexico cuts each stone individually, which is why no two of these scarf rings are exactly alike.

Slide it onto a silk square, a bandana or a neckerchief. It works with a suit and it works with a t-shirt.

Care

Silver is a living material and will develop a patina over time. Polish it with a silver cloth to bring back the shine, or leave it darker — we like it both ways. Lapis is a softer stone: keep it away from perfume and household cleaners, and store the piece dry.

Questions

Is the lapis natural? Yes, natural lapis lazuli, cut by hand. The gold flecks are pyrite and the pale veins are calcite — both are natural to the stone and part of how you tell real lapis from dyed substitutes.

How do I wear a scarf ring? Pass both ends of a folded scarf, bandana or neckerchief through the ring and slide it up to where you want the knot to sit. It holds the fabric in place without tying it.

Is every piece the same? No. Every stone is cut individually, so the blue, the gold flecks and the veining change from one scarf ring to the next.
