Lengua Drop Earrings in Sterling Silver | Ready to Ship

Precio de oferta$ 5,265.00

The Lengua Drop Earrings are sculptural .925 sterling silver earrings, made by hand in our workshop in Taxco, Guerrero, Mexico.

They belong to our Lengua Collection, inspired by the universal language of communication. The form reinterprets the tongue — a symbol we found throughout pre-Hispanic codices, where it stands for speech, knowledge and human connection — and lets it fall from the ear.

Each earring is made from two die-stamped pieces of sterling sheet, soldered together into a hollow form using cartoneado, the technique Taxco has practiced for generations. It's what gives them volume without weight: they look substantial and weigh almost nothing.

No stone. Just the silver and the curve.

Care

Silver is a living material and will develop a patina over time. Polish with a silver cloth to bring back the shine, or leave the patina if you prefer the darker tone. Store them dry.

Questions

Are they heavy? No. Each earring is hollow — two stamped sheets of sterling soldered together — so the pair weighs about 10 grams total. They read as a statement and wear like nothing.

How long are they? 4.5 cm (about 1.8 inches) from the post to the tip.

Are they solid silver? The silver is .925 throughout. The form is hollow, built with cartoneado, which is exactly why they're light enough to wear all day.

Do they match the Lengua bracelets? Yes — same collection, same construction, same tongue reduced to its essential form. They were made to be worn together.
